On the evening of July 27, the final competition day of PNC 2025 took place in Seoul, South Korea. The 4 members of the Vietnamese team continued their destructive streak, widening the gap with the opponents behind them. After the last 6 matches, the 4 athletes were officially crowned champions, receiving a cash prize of 150,000 USD (nearly 4 billion VND ). In addition, the publisher also shared the profit contribution of nearly 500,000 USD to the participating teams according to their rankings. Thus, it is estimated that the Vietnamese representative earned nearly 8 billion VND after the tournament lasted only 3 days.
This victory once again marks the domestic region on the PUBG world map. Domestic organizations Cerberus Esports and The Expendables have won the PGC and PGS, the game’s highest-level global tournaments. Winning the PUBG “World Cup” affirms Vietnam’s current number one position.
PNC has a unique format when compared to other eSports tournaments. Instead of individual organizations, the publisher selects four players and a coach who are the best in the region for the year to come to the event. So instead of wearing their own colors, the players represent the entire country to compete against other nations.
Despite coming close to winning the championship several times, PNC is still the last title that domestic PUBG teams have missed. Before the tournament, this lineup was not expected to be too high as Vietnam had sent more famous names to the event. However, TanVuu, Himass, Delwyn and Sololzy showed a terrible performance.

At the end of the tournament, Vietnam left behind their nearest rival, China, by a whopping 60 points. The team also broke the record for the most points a region could achieve at the PNC, which had been held by the United Kingdom for a long time.
Previously, Vietnamese Lien Quan Mobile teams such as Team Flash, Saigon Phantom, V Gaming or FIFA Online 4 team also won the world championship. However, the above games are small-scale, only popular in 3-5 countries. Meanwhile, PUBG is still a global eSports, with investment from many regions and a high level of competition.
PUBG or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a game that was released in beta in 2017 by the Korean company Krafton. This is a survival shooter game, opening a trend with a series of follow-up models. Initially, PUBG was released as a paid game. By 2022, it became a free game for all users.
Despite being the leader of the genre, PUBG didn’t maintain its glory for long. Hacking and cheating problems, poor optimization, and slow changes caused the player base to decline.
In the same genre, Epic Games’ Fortnite has had great success in the West. The game is constantly updated with new modes and content to attract gamers. This has been Epic Games’ “golden goose” over the years. Fortnite has sparked conflicts between the publisher and app store managers like Apple and Google over the revenue sharing ratio.
