Why did VPF reject SHB Da Nang's request to change the stadium for the play-off match?

TPO - SHB Da Nang head coach Le Duc Tuan wants to change the stadium to organize the play-off match for a place in the V-League next season, but VPF does not approve. Why?

At the end of LPBank V-League 2024/25, SHB Da Nang Club ranked 13th with 25 points. The result helped the Han River team escape danger, winning the right to play in the play-off match with Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc, the runner-up of the National First Division. This is also the team that owns former HAGL striker Nguyen Cong Phuong, who is eager to be promoted to V-League.

According to the previous decision of VPF, this match will be held at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City). However, recently, SHB Da Nang head coach Le Duc Tuan said that the Organizing Committee should choose a neutral stadium in Binh Dinh or Nha Trang.

In a written response to SHB Da Nang today, VPF said that the above plan had been agreed upon in advance. Therefore, all preparations for the above play-off match have been implemented, from media, television, VAR... Changing the stadium in the current urgent time conditions is not possible.

Speaking to Tien Phong, a representative of the tournament's organizing committee added that Thong Nhat Stadium ensures the harmonious movement of both SHB Da Nang and Binh Phuoc teams. The plan to organize the play-off match was also made at a time when it was not yet determined which team would play, ensuring fairness for the teams.
