Medical support for Vietnam's top sports
Vinmec and VFF signed a strategic cooperation agreement in April.
Taking care of players’ health and rehabilitating injuries is VFF’s top priority. With strategic cooperation with Vinmec Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, many achievements have been achieved.
Vinmec provides comprehensive medical support for national teams from U16 to men's, women's and futsal teams. A series of key players such as Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Van Toan, Thai Thi Thao, Chuong Thi Kieu, Le Van Xuan, Nguyen Tien Linh... were treated by Vinmec and quickly returned to the field.
In addition, training courses to improve sports medicine capacity were also implemented for medical staff of the clubs, from prevention to treatment of injuries. This cooperation has also promoted scientific research, helping Vietnamese sports medicine create a buzz at international conferences, contributing to regional standards.

Vinmec Medical System has actively supported treatment for all teams, strengthening the belief in the systematic development of sports medicine in Vietnamese football".
Vietnam's mark on the Asian sports medicine map
One year after Vinmec Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center was recognized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) as a Sports Medicine Center of Excellence, Vietnam has made great strides. At the 8th AFC Sports Medicine Conference (held from July 21-25, 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Vinmec made a strong impression with 8 scientific reports, ranking among the top in Southeast Asia.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, this is an important milestone and also a remarkable development when in a short period of time since achieving the AFC Sports Medicine Center of Excellence certification, Vinmec has made strong strides in research and practice to reach a higher level, in order to serve the development of top-level football in the country.
Vinmec's reports focus on comprehensive and personalized treatment for athletes, integrating key areas of modern sports medicine including biomechanics, rehabilitation as well as applying new methods and technologies in diagnosis and treatment to help athletes recover quickly, prevent injuries and improve performance.
A typical example is the study "Knee Biomechanics in Action: Understanding the Synergistic Role of Flexion and Valgus Angles in Male Football Players during Dynamic Athletic Movements". This is the first study in Southeast Asia to analyze the relationship between knee flexion angle and axial deviation during movement in football players to measure, support training and predict the risk of anterior cruciate ligament injury.
In addition, Vinmec also presented research on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in motion analysis and the effectiveness of recovery after musculoskeletal injuries thanks to personalized physical therapy.

Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung - Director of Vinmec Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, Head of the Medical Department of the Vietnam Football Federation - shared: "As Vietnamese sports integrate deeply, sports medicine also needs to integrate accordingly, which is an opportunity to compete and improve domestic expertise. The three basic factors that require close cooperation between excellent centers are training, research and sharing of expertise, in order to improve connectivity and competition performance".
The cooperation between VFF and Vinmec is gradually building a comprehensive sports medicine ecosystem, connecting medicine, health science, and exercise science. This not only helps athletes receive comprehensive medical support but also promotes in-depth training and the application of advanced technology in the treatment of sports injuries according to international standards, contributing to raising the level of modern, sustainable, and systematic Vietnamese sports medicine.
In May 2024, Vinmec was recognized as an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Sports Medicine Center of Excellence. This is the highest standard system for medical facilities and hospitals providing optimal health care services for Asian football players. Over the past year, more than 15 players have undergone surgery, more than 60 athletes have recovered from injuries according to AFC standards.
Vinmec is not only a pioneer in applying modern technology: Motion Analysis Lab, anatomical mapping and 3D positioning robots, applying 3D technology in treating complex injuries such as ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), but also connecting expertise through training activities, seminars and expertise sharing.
