On behalf of the working delegation, Mr. Truong Van Bao - Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Bac Giang province, said that in 2024, the results of implementing the goals, targets and tasks of the ethnic minority sector of Bac Giang province were all completed according to the set plan, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province. Social security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is guaranteed.
The poverty rate in 2024 of 73 communes in ethnic minority areas will decrease by 1.78% (from 5.66% in 2023 to 3.88% in 2024), the poverty rate in 28 extremely disadvantaged communes will decrease by 4.32% (from 13.57% in 2023 to 9.25% in 2024); 42/73 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of the province will meet new rural standards, reaching 57.5%; 100% of the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and policy households will be completed. The security and order situation in ethnic minority areas is stable, the great national unity bloc is consolidated and maintained, and people always trust in the direction and leadership of the Party and State.
Along with that, in recent times, the team of Prestigious People of Bac Giang province has strived to operate, promote influence, demonstrate good roles, effective operations and become an important support for Party committees, authorities, the Front and socio -political organizations in coordinating to ensure security and order in ethnic minority areas, effectively implementing the policies of the Party and the State, propagating and mobilizing people to rise up to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, develop socio-economy, eliminate backward customs, superstitions... in ethnic minority areas of the province.
In the open and friendly atmosphere of the meeting, the Prestigious People delegates highly appreciated the effectiveness of ethnic programs and policies for ethnic minority areas such as: Infrastructure investment, production support, transportation... The delegates also recommended that the Party, State and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities pay more attention to mechanisms and policies for Prestigious People; increase loan capital for ethnic minority households to develop the economy, reduce poverty; strengthen equipment for the grassroots health system, increase spending on health insurance; preserve the language, singing and writing of ethnic minorities; forest protection work...
At the same time, the delegates pledged to continue to promote their role more effectively in the lives of ethnic minorities at the grassroots level; educate their children and grandchildren to strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
Speaking at the reception of the delegation, Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy - Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities acknowledged and highly appreciated the effective results of the team of Prestigious People of Bac Giang province for the ethnic minority areas in recent years. Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy also fully accepted the opinions and suggestions of the delegates to report to the Committee's leaders, to advise the Government to develop appropriate policies.
On this occasion, Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy hopes that the team of prestigious people in Bac Giang province always trust, continue to support and effectively implement the policies of the Party and State; especially the work of socio-economic development, maintaining security and order in their localities; always be exemplary in all activities in ethnic minority areas; be an active bridge between the Party, the government and the people, worthy of the trust of the people.
In the intimate atmosphere of the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities, Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy presented gifts from the Committee for Ethnic Minorities to the delegates of prestigious people in the ethnic minorities of Bac Giang province.
