The campaign of Mr. Trump and his running mate JD Vance in Minnesota on July 27 used many ABBA hits such as The Winner Takes It All, Money, Money, Money and Dancing Queen.

Universal Music's statement stated that the company and ABBA members requested that Mr. Trump's campaign team stop using and immediately remove ABBA's music.

Universal Music confirmed that it did not grant the rights to use these music products to Mr. Trump's campaign team.

Mr. Trump's campaign team has not yet responded to the above information.

Several artists or their representatives have previously objected to their music being played at Mr Trump's events over the years, including the late American singer and guitarist Tom Petty, British singer-songwriter Adele and rock band REM.

In April 2024, Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor also asked the Trump campaign to stop using her music.

Canadian singer Celine Dion and her record label filed a similar complaint earlier this month, calling the use of her music unauthorized.
