U23 Vietnam actively prepares for the final match of the Southeast Asian tournament

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnam U23 team will continue to practice in Jakarta (Indonesia) to prepare for the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with the host team.

During the training session, head coach Kim Sang-sik focused on honing tactical skills, adjusting the team's formation and attack and defense plans, and improving finishing to help the team prepare thoroughly for the upcoming important match.

Regarding personnel work, the Korean coach is also making careful calculations to choose the optimal squad, ensuring a balance between experience, form and physical condition.

The good news for the team is that those with minor injuries like Ly Duc, Dinh Bac and Quoc Viet have returned to normal training and completed the training plan set out by the coaching staff.

Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac said: “This is a very important match. I feel the whole team is well prepared and in good spirits.

We have carefully analyzed the playing style of U23 Indonesia. They are a strong opponent with many quality players. The whole team will play with the utmost determination and passion.”

Regarding the news that VAR may be applied in the final match, Dinh Bac said that this is a positive thing: "VAR will help the match be fairer for both teams, especially with the importance of the final. We will try our best to show our best performance to win," Dinh Bac emphasized.

When asked about the pressure from the home fans at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Dinh Bac shared: “Many of us have played in the U19 tournament here, so we are not too surprised. The team spirit is very determined, ready to put aside all external factors to focus on the competition, bringing glory to the Fatherland.”

Dinh Bac also frankly admitted that finishing ability is an area that the whole team needs to improve: “We missed quite a few chances in the last matches, and so did I. In the remaining two training sessions, the whole team will try to regain the feeling of scoring goals to be ready for the final match.”

The final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

This is the third consecutive time that U23 Vietnam has participated in the final match of the Southeast Asian U23 tournament, after winning the championship twice in 2022 and 2023.
