The entire U23 Vietnam team took a moment of silence before the match with U23 Laos to remember the deceased members of HAGL Club. This was a ritual performed by U23 Vietnam, so the players and coaching staff stood in a circle in the technical cabin area.
The actions of coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team show their sympathy for the loss of the victims' families as well as HAGL Club.

The accident occurred on National Highway 14, passing through Ia Hru Commune, Chu Puh District, Gia Lai. The car carrying 4 members of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club was on its way from Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ) to Pleiku (Gia Lai) when the accident occurred, the car was sandwiched between the front of 2 trucks.
HAGL assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, player Paollo Madeira Oliveira and doctor Dao Trong Tri died. The driver luckily survived.
The World Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) sent letters of condolences to HAGL and the families of the victims.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino posted: " Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who died, those affected by this tragic accident, as well as the Vietnam Football Federation, the coaching staff and players of HAGL during this difficult time ."
HAGL Club sent officials and employees to support the victims' families in the funeral. The funeral of doctor Trong Tri was held on August 14. Coach Duong Minh Ninh's body was cremated on August 16. Meanwhile, Paollo was brought back to Portugal. HAGL Club supported all expenses and procedures for this player's funeral.
