The stock trading session on September 5 brought a lot of emotions to investors with a surprising somersault.
In the morning session, the market excitedly surpassed the historical peak of 1,700 points, but in the afternoon, selling pressure increased, pushing the index down 29 points. VN-Index ended the week unable to protect its achievements, falling to 1,666.97 points.

In this session, VIC ( Vingroup ) shares, which were the main driving force for the market, at one point increased by nearly 4%, fell to the reference price. VHM (Vinhomes) shares fell by more than 2.2%, joining the group that negatively affected the general index.
VPL (Vinpearl) stock is the only code in the Vingroup "family" that increased slightly by 0.37% but could not save the general decline.
In the group of billionaire stocks, only VJC ( Vietjet Air) has maintained an increase of 1.43%. Since the beginning of July, this stock has continuously increased from 90,000 VND/unit to 142,000 VND/unit at present, an increase of 58% in just over 2 months.
The stock surge pushed the fortune of Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of Vietjet, to $3.6 billion, up $10 million in just one day. Thao was also the only billionaire whose fortune increased after yesterday's volatile market session, according to Forbes.

Meanwhile, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets remained unchanged at 12.7 billion USD. Billionaires Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of Techcombank and Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of Masan both decreased by about 25-26 million USD.
Billionaire Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat - saw the sharpest decrease in asset value because HPG shares fluctuated strongly after the exciting sessions. This code also had the sharpest decrease in the group of billionaire stocks with a decrease of 3.5%, to 28,800 VND/unit. Billionaire Long's assets correspondingly decreased by 107 million USD, to 2.9 billion USD.
