Vietnam women's volleyball team lost to the world's number 3 team

VHO - Despite surprisingly winning set 1, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team let world No. 3 Poland come from behind to win 3-1 in the opening match of Group G of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship.

The Vietnamese women's team had a dream start in set 1. Despite being underestimated, the Vietnamese girls played aggressively, continuously chasing the score, before surprisingly winning 25-23.

However, the level of play returned in the second set. The Polish women's team came back strongly, leading quite deeply, 14-5, 16-6 before winning 25-10.

Set 3 was similar, the Vietnamese women's team's defense could not keep up with Poland's attacks, while the offense had difficulty against the opponent's defense.

Thanh Thuy and her teammates' efforts only helped them reach 12 points in set 3.

The surprise happened at the beginning of set 4 when the Vietnamese women's team had an impressive start, leading 6-1 at one point.

The girls in blue played with great effort.

But Poland once again showed their class by continuously scoring points, tying the score at 9-9.

The Vietnamese girls tried very hard to tie the score at 11-11, then continuously chased the score but still lost 22-25 in the end.

Losing to Poland 1-3 (25-23, 10-25, 12-25, 22-25), the Vietnamese girls had a very hard-working opening match.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students deserve praise, especially for what they showed in sets 1 and 4.

In the second match of Group G on August 25, the Vietnamese women's team will meet the German women's team.
