Fulbright University Vietnam has a new president

Fulbright University Vietnam has just appointed Dr. Dinh Vu Trang Ngan as its principal.

Information on the appointment of the new principal of Fulbright University Vietnam was shared in a press release today, July 14.

Accordingly, Dr. Ngan officially took office as principal from July 10, 2025.

Dinh Vu Trang Ngan is an economist and one of the first members of Fulbright University Vietnam since its establishment in 2016.

Prior to becoming provost, she served as vice president of student affairs and is the successor to Dr. Scott Fritzen, the previous provost whose term ends at the end of June 2025.

Dinh Vu Trang Ngan studied at Bates College, University of Chicago and Cambridge University.

She taught economics at Bates College before returning to Vietnam and participating in the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program in 2008.

At Fulbright Vietnam, Dinh Vu Trang Ngan is known for her role in building training programs, designing liberal education models, as well as developing student support activities and community connections.

In addition to the decision to appoint a president, Fulbright University Vietnam also announced that Mr. Chris Helzer - a member of the board of trustees since 2022 - will assume the role of chairman of the board of trustees, replacing Mr. Thomas J. Vallely.

Mr. Helzer previously worked in public policy and program coordination at Nike and the US State Department.

Meanwhile, his predecessor, Mr. Thomas J. Vallely, will continue to serve as a member of the board of trustees of Fulbright University Vietnam.
