Dong Thap University focuses on digital technology capacity in the new school year

On the morning of September 5, Dong Thap University solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. Attending the ceremony were representatives of Dong Thap province's leaders and nearly 5,000 new students.

In 2025, Dong Thap University will enroll 52 undergraduate majors and 1 preschool education college major. In the first admission round, the school had nearly 5,000 students enrolled.

Among the first batch of students admitted, there are 2,491 new students from the Pedagogical School. This brings the total number of students of the Pedagogical School of Dong Thap University to 8,264, from the following faculties: Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education; Faculty of Physical Education and Art Pedagogy; Faculty of Natural Science Pedagogy; Faculty of Social Science Pedagogy; Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology Pedagogy; Faculty of Political Education and Educational Management.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the School recorded many achievements in all areas of work: training (postgraduate, full-time university, part-time, training and distance), quality assessment, science-technology and digital transformation, community service, development of facilities, conditions and learning-working environment, domestic and international cooperation, providing educational services to meet social needs.

Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, said that the 2025-2026 school year has a special meaning: This is the school year marking the 50-year milestone of training tradition - half a century of the school accompanying the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.

In terms of key tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, it is noteworthy that the school will review the labor market needs and the school's potential to open new training programs to meet the needs of society and learners, serving the socio-economic development of the locality, the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.

The school integrates artificial intelligence (AI) content into training programs, develops training programs; focuses on professional capacity, digital technology capacity and career and entrepreneurship skills; designs interdisciplinary/cross-disciplinary training programs and links between training levels; reduces the amount of academic knowledge, increases the amount of practice, experimentation, and internship for learners; is suitable and meets international accreditation standards.

On this occasion, the school awarded 53 scholarships to new students, each worth 2 million VND, to support and encourage their learning spirit during their university journey.
