Center for Disease Control organizes training on school health work and school disease prevention

Attending the opening ceremony of the training course were comrade Trieu Nguyet Hoa - Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Control; experts from the Department of Education and Training; reporters from the Department of Community Health Care and the Department of Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, Center for Disease Control; leaders of the Department of Public Health - Nutrition and Food Safety; officers in charge of school health work of the Medical Centers.

In his opening speech, Comrade Trieu Nguyet Hoa - Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Control said: School health plays an important role in primary health care for students, contributing to raising awareness of hygiene, physical training and disease prevention. Implementing the decisions of the Government and the Ministry of Health on the School Health Program associated with grassroots health care for the period 2021- By 2025, the goal is that 100% of educational institutions will have staff or officers in charge of school health work, ensuring good health care, first aid and injury prevention. However, in Cao Bang, there are still many difficulties when the school health staff is still lacking and most of them are part-time, leading to limitations in first aid, monitoring student health and disease prevention. Therefore, organizing training courses is of practical significance to consolidate and improve the capacity of the school health team, strengthen coordination between the health sector and the education sector, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of the School Health Program in the current period .

At the training course, trainees were updated with the following contents: Overview of school health work; Nutrition according to student age and school meal organization; Measures to prevent poisoning in the kitchen and ensure food safety in schools; Characteristics of some addictive substances for students, current situation, causes of use and prevention measures; Some common diseases in students related to learning conditions and age characteristics; Prevention of common accidents and injuries in schools; Some appropriate forms of health education communication in schools...
