An Giang Continuing Education Center was established on August 11, 1995 on the basis of merging 5 training units. In the initial stage, the center proactively cooperated with many universities and colleges to train in professions to meet local needs.
In the period 2005 - 2015, the training scale of the center was expanded, reaching 15,000 students in one year. Foreign language, information technology, and cultural enrichment programs developed strongly, contributing to improving people's knowledge and standardizing the staff.
Since 2015, in the context of difficult enrollment and narrowing of joint programs, the center has adapted by expanding vocational training combined with culture, linking with many intermediate schools in the region.
In particular, the center identifies digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) as the focus of innovation. With the characteristic of being a unit that self-guarantees a part of its regular expenses (group 2), the center has optimized resources, upgraded facilities, built a team of dedicated staff, and maintained training quality.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy emphasized that over the past 30 years, An Giang Continuing Education Center has contributed to improving people's knowledge, training and career transition for workers, fostering civil servants and public employees, meeting the requirements of human resource development of the province.
To better perform its tasks in the coming period, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy suggested that departments, branches, organizations and localities need to clearly define the role of the Continuing Education Center as a public educational service provider that can be ordered and assigned training and development tasks according to the needs of agencies and units. At the same time, it is necessary to create conditions for the center to participate more deeply in community learning programs, building a learning society, especially in border areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas.
Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy noted that An Giang Continuing Education Center continues to promote its responsibilities and missions in the new period, proactively diversifying resources, strengthening links with training institutions, businesses, and social organizations to expand its scale and fields of operation. Focus on building a team of cadres and teachers with solid professional qualifications, enthusiasm, and the ability to adapt to an open, flexible, and modern training model. Continue to innovate the governance model, apply information technology, and digital transformation in teaching and learning activities in an effective, economical, and autonomous manner...
