Many taxes increase revenue
According to the Da Nang City Tax Department, the accumulated revenue in the first 6 months from 3 economic sectors (state-owned enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises and non-state economic sectors) was 13,466.7 billion VND, reaching 55.6% of the estimate and equal to 99.7% compared to the same period.
Of which, 3/4 of tax revenue from 3 economic sectors increased significantly compared to the same period: corporate income tax increased by 34.6%, resource tax increased by 21.2% and value added tax increased by 4.8%; special consumption tax alone was 75% compared to the same period.
The reason for the increase in the above taxes is that the production and business activities of economic sectors in the area continue to grow in 2024; trade and tourism activities take place bustlingly, attracting a large number of local people and tourists to Da Nang.
Special consumption tax decreased compared to the same period due to the implementation of Decree No. 81/2025/ND-CP of the Government on extending the deadline for paying special consumption tax on domestically produced or assembled automobiles.
Revenue from taxes, fees, charges and other budget revenues reached VND 7,440 billion, of which revenue from Da Nang city (old) was VND 5,633 billion, up 17% over the same period and Quang Nam province (old) was VND 1,807 billion, up 4.3% over the same period.
The reason for the increase in revenue is the increase in the labor force, so personal income tax from salaries and wages reached 1,688.8 billion VND, an increase of 31.4% over the same period.
In addition, the real estate market is becoming more vibrant, the number of transactions is increasing, so personal income tax revenue from real estate transfers reached VND942.4 billion, an increase of VND214.5 billion and an increase of 29.5% over the same period.
Environmental protection tax collection reached VND824.8 billion, equal to 101.7% over the same period due to transportation activities maintaining positive growth in both passenger and freight transport, thereby meeting well the travel and production needs of people and businesses.
Registration fee collection reached 819.2 billion VND, up 34.3% over the same period...
In particular, land revenue was VND3,446.5 billion, reaching 58.2% of the estimate and equal to 175.4% over the same period. Of which, land use revenue was VND3,006 billion, reaching 61.3% of the estimate and equal to 239.7% over the same period; land and water surface rental revenue was VND440.4 billion, reaching 43.2% of the estimate and equal to 62% over the same period.
The main reason for the increase in revenue is due to the increase in the amount of money collected from auctions of land use rights of individuals, resettlement grants and changes in land use purposes in (old) districts...
Strive for the best results
According to the assessment of the Da Nang City Tax Department, the accumulated domestic revenue excluding land use fees in the first 6 months of 2025 reached VND 20,907.6 billion, equal to 104% compared to the same period. This shows that the city's production and business activities have had positive changes.

At the same time, tax authorities have stepped up inspection and examination activities, combated revenue loss, recovered tax arrears; monitored the use of electronic invoices and tax declarations by enterprises, especially key enterprises and high-risk enterprises in a number of industries.
However, to ensure the completion of the 2025 budget revenue estimate, the Tax authority is striving to implement a number of key solutions.
Mr. Bui Khanh Toan, Head of Tax Department of Da Nang City, said that the tax sector has strengthened management, exploited revenue sources well, continued to implement measures to prevent revenue loss, and increased revenue for industries and fields with tax risks according to Plan No. 57/KH-BCĐ of the Steering Committee for preventing state budget revenue loss and recovering tax arrears in the period of 2024 - 2025 in the city.
The City Tax Department coordinates with relevant departments, agencies and sectors to review the remaining projects, speed up the handling process to increase revenue from land use fees, ensure the completion of the central budget, especially for land with available land, resolutely handle cases of delayed debt, request competent authorities to establish procedures to revoke land allocation policies and carry out investment calls for other projects according to regulations.
The tax sector continues to strengthen the review of administrative procedures in the tax sector, the processes for handling and processing taxpayers' records, advising on the reduction and simplification of administrative procedures; strengthen guidance and support for taxpayers in performing administrative procedures with tax authorities electronically, and improving the quality of public service provision.
The tax sector is reviewing business establishments that are required to apply electronic invoices generated from cash registers, striving for 100% of establishments that are eligible to implement according to regulations; reviewing and establishing tax sets for business households in each locality, implementing the construction of digital maps for the management of business households and individuals; ensuring readiness and proactive conversion of business households and individuals that are declaring and paying taxes according to the lump-sum method to declaration from January 1, 2026.
