Southern Summer Camp: A useful playground for teachers and students

In recent days, more than 1,000 administrators, teachers, and students from 29 high schools in southern provinces and cities had the opportunity to gather in Tay Ninh province to participate in the 8th Southern Summer Camp program in 2025.

Summer camp is an opportunity for children to develop their abilities, demonstrate their talents, inspire solidarity and spread their passion for learning and research. Candidates have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and creativity through the Olympic competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, Information Technology and English.

After the exciting and enthusiastic discussion of the intellectual playground, Tran Hoa Thao, a student of Bac Lieu High School for the Gifted, Ca Mau province, shared: “This is the first time I have attended the Summer Camp. The Olympic competition in subjects is a great opportunity for me and my friends to review our knowledge and accumulate experience for upcoming major competitions such as the national excellent student competition.”

Phuong Nam Summer Camp is not only a place for students to compete, but also an environment for educators, managers, and teachers to exchange and share professional development experiences.

Ms. Vu Thi Huong, a teacher at Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted (An Giang province) said that this is a very useful playground, teachers can exchange and learn experiences in teaching; students have a playground to compete and exchange knowledge. Through attending the literature seminar, Ms. Huong realized that teachers invested a lot of effort in the content of the seminar, contributing to helping colleagues learn a lot of good knowledge.

At the closing ceremony of the Summer Camp, the Organizing Committee awarded 47 prizes to teachers participating in the in-depth writing contest, including: 9 First prizes, 9 Second prizes and 29 Third prizes. At the same time, 99 Gold Medals, 198 Silver Medals and 225 Bronze Medals were awarded to students with high achievements in the Olympic Competition of subjects.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh Province, Ly Thanh Binh, commented: “The summer camp has truly become a common home for students to demonstrate their talents and for teachers to share valuable experiences. The quality Olympic competitions, in-depth professional seminars and meaningful cultural exchange activities have affirmed the practical value of the program. In particular, the spirit of solidarity, creativity and eagerness to learn of all members is the clearest proof of the strength of regional education.”
