The award aims to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work on Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and spread the orientations and goals of the Politburo , City Party Committee, and City People's Committee on breakthrough development and application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to promote the rapid and sustainable development of the City, contributing to the development of the country.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, shared: "This award is a practical activity to recognize and honor the important contributions of reporters, journalists, and editors. They are the ones who have been accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in effectively implementing Resolution 57 - a resolution with long-term and breakthrough strategic significance, laying a solid foundation for the country's sustainable development based on knowledge, technology, and innovation."
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: "Resolution 57 not only provides strategic direction for the country's sustainable development in the digital age but is also a call to action, promoting the entire political and social system to act together to create breakthroughs in thinking, institutions, technological infrastructure and people".
"In this journey, the press is the pioneering force in spreading and inspiring the spirit of innovation throughout society. At the same time, the press is also an effective channel of social criticism, helping state agencies absorb opinions from practice to perfect policies, so that Resolution 57 can truly come into life," added Mr. Lam Dinh Thang.
According to the organizers, the award welcomes the participation of reporters, editors, and journalist members working at Ho Chi Minh City press agencies as well as central press agencies with permanent offices in Ho Chi Minh City.
Entries can be in many genres such as print, electronic, radio, television, including reports, notes, interviews, narratives, quick notes, press notes and must be published or broadcast from January 1, 2025 to November 15, 2025.
The content of the works should focus on broadly reflecting the key points of Resolution 57. This includes raising awareness and promoting action across society on science , technology, innovation and digital transformation.
In addition, the works also need to mention the improvement of institutions and policies; infrastructure and data development; human resource development and talent attraction; promoting innovation and application of science and technology; developing digital government, digital economy, digital society and ensuring information safety, security and data sovereignty.
The Organizing Committee will award a total of 17 prizes to outstanding individuals and groups, with a total value of up to nearly 300 million VND. Specifically, there will be 1 First Prize worth 50,000,000 VND; 2 Second Prizes, each worth 40,000,000 VND; 3 Third Prizes, each worth 20,000,000 VND and 10 Consolation Prizes, each worth 10,000,000 VND.
