Recently, Ms. Van Thi Hong Hanh, Human Resources Director at Home Credit Vietnam, appeared on Vietsuccess's People Matter program, sharing her story about the journey of building and promoting a lifelong learning culture in the enterprise to motivate the team to enhance their knowledge and skills to adapt to the new era.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of human and cultural development, Ms. Hanh believes that learning culture is the foundation and prerequisite for businesses to survive.

“In this era of rapid change, especially with the rise of AI and digital transformation, every organization must continuously learn and improve its capacity. We need to learn not only to become better, but also to not become obsolete,” said Ms. Hanh.

That is why at Home Credit Vietnam, investing in people is investing in the future of the business.

Sharing at People Matter, Ms. Van Thi Hong Hanh said that the learning culture at Home Credit is built on the foundation of thinking - commitment - action, in which leadership plays a core role.

As a model of corporate learning, leaders regularly improve themselves through Training, Mentoring and Coaching programs from leading experts inside and outside the organization, designed to suit the needs of each target group.

From there, the CEO and the Executive Board not only inspire learning and experience sharing for the staff, but also prioritize budget allocation for talent training and building a culture of connection. Typically, in the past year, the company has implemented a series of Design Thinking Workshops, promoting teamwork, creativity and group solution proposals.

In order to promote a culture of lifelong learning, Home Credit also strives to diversify learning and development forms for employees to make learning interesting, convenient and practical. The learning programs are designed with a variety of topics, forms and levels to meet the learning needs anytime, anywhere. This is especially meaningful because Home Credit has more than 6,500 employees spread across the country.

Highlighted among the activities is the Home-Schooled Expert Series held every Thursday afternoon by internal or external speakers.

Above all, for Home Credit, learning must mainly come from practical work, requiring learners to engage in work and find solutions with the guidance and companionship of managers. According to Ms. Hanh, the company is applying the 70-10-20 model, in which 70% is learning from practical work experience, 20% is learning through interaction and social relationships, and the remaining 10% comes from formal learning.

Notably, Home Credit is always a pioneer in digital transformation, researching and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to further encourage learning and optimize employee experience.

In addition, the company has a mechanism to recognize and reward internal lecturers and students who have good achievements in terms of study hours, knowledge sharing hours and receiving positive reviews from students. This is the core to encourage employees to spend time developing themselves, sharing knowledge with colleagues, transforming the role of employees from learners to inspirers, thereby remembering and applying the knowledge they have in work and life.

Home Credit is also one of the companies with policies to encourage and facilitate internal rotation, along with personalizing the development roadmap, helping to increase employee engagement, especially in leadership and key personnel positions. In addition, the company focuses on discovering and nurturing young talent, typically the young talent development program (Home Racer Program) has launched its 4th season.
