Tottenham appoints coach... who has never won a title

A few days after firing coach Angie Postecoglou, Tottenham's board of directors officially appointed Thomas Frank as the team's head coach.

Tottenham's board of directors have criticised the decision to sack manager Postecoglou as "cruel", as the Australian tactician helped the club end its 17-year title drought by winning the Europa League last season.

On social media in recent days, Tottenham has become the target of ridicule because of this. Chairman Daniel Levy has made many confusing decisions such as firing coach Pochettino - who led the team to the Champions League final, then inexplicably firing coach Jose Mourinho right before the League Cup final...

Many people joked that Postecoglou was fired for daring to break Tottenham's tradition of... going empty-handed every season.

And now, the North London club's board of directors has chosen Thomas Frank, a strategist who has never won a title in nearly 20 years of coaching.

A Dane, Frank was the manager of Brondby FC from 2013 to 2016. Strangely, despite Brondby being one of the most successful teams in Danish football history, they failed to win any trophies under Thomas Frank.

In 2018, coach Thomas Frank moved to lead Brentford - then playing in the English First Division, and then successfully helped them play in the Premier League in 2021.

Under the 51-year-old tactician, Brentford have gradually become a mid-table force in the Premier League. They are renowned for their fast and efficient attacking style of play. This season, Brentford finished 10th in the table, above both Man United and Tottenham.

In terms of domestic stability, coach Thomas Frank is a worthy name to sit in the head coach position of Tottenham. Despite winning the Europa League, Tottenham played extremely unstable in the domestic league under coach Postecoglou.

But of course, appointing a manager who has never won a trophy will make Tottenham the subject of continued ridicule next season.
