Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 13 signed an intergovernmental agreement with China on cooperation in supplying natural gas from Russia to China via the Far East pipeline.

The agreement was signed in Moscow and Beijing on January 31 this year.

The agreement outlines the conditions for cooperation in gas supplies from Russia to China along the Far Eastern pipeline route, including the cross-border section of the gas pipeline across the Ussuri River near the city of Dalnerechensk in Russia and the city of Hulin in China.

This document also regulates tax and customs matters, as well as procedures for resolving any disputes that may arise.

According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Energy, the opening of the Far East gas pipeline will increase the volume of natural gas supplied to China by 10 billion cubic meters per year.

Previously, Russia's Gazprom Energy Group said that after completing the project, Russia's gas exports to China will reach 48 billion cubic meters per year, including gas supplied via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

This agreement will contribute to the development of Russia's gas transportation system, as well as constructive economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector./.
