In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera aired on July 23, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran will continue its uranium enrichment program, despite international opposition.
Mr. Pezeshkian affirmed that the further development of the country's nuclear capabilities will be carried out within the framework of international law. Tehran is committed to continuing its nuclear program for peaceful purposes.

"US President Donald Trump said that Iran should not have nuclear weapons and we accept this because we are against nuclear weapons and this is our political , religious, humanitarian and strategic position," said Mr. Pezeshkian.
"We believe in diplomacy , so any future negotiations must be based on the principle of mutual benefit. We will not accept threats and impositions. Mr. Trump's statement that our nuclear program is finished is an illusion. Our nuclear capabilities are in the minds of our scientists, not in our facilities," the Iranian president stressed.
President Pezeshkian also said Iran was prepared for any war that Israel might wage against it, adding that he was not optimistic about a ceasefire between the two countries.
"We are fully prepared for any new Israeli military move and our armed forces are ready to strike deep into Israeli territory again," the Iranian leader added.
