Summary of the Project to Enhance the Resilience of Poor Households through Climate Change Adaptive Livelihoods

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Director of CISDOMA Institute said: “With the mission of promoting sustainable development in rural and mountainous areas, CISDOMA Institute focuses on scientific research, project implementation, and capacity building for the community. The Institute operates in the following areas: gender, community development, environmental and natural resource management, sustainable agriculture , rural livelihoods, market connectivity, disaster risk management and climate change response... Projects implemented in Tam Duong district promote green and inclusive sustainable development”.

The project was approved by the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee for implementation under Decision 1644/QD-UBND dated December 13, 2022. Accordingly, CISDOMA Institute coordinated with the Tam Duong District People's Committee to mobilize funding from the Bread for the World Organization (BftW) to implement the project. From 2022 to present, there are 6 communes in the district, including: Binh Lu, Khun Ha, Ban Bo, Ho Thau, Giang Ma and Ban Giang benefiting from the project, with a total support budget of over 14 billion VND.

CISDOMA Institute presented a Commemorative Medal to Tam Duong district.

The project supports 517 households with technical skills and part of the finance to develop agriculture, associated with eco-community tourism , increasing people's income by 20-30%. Consulting and supporting 6 local products that have been certified by the project. At the same time, supporting and maintaining 49 farmer groups in 23 villages of 6 communes that have been promoted and maintained by the project.

Representatives of the People's Committee of Tam Duong district presented Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project to enhance the resilience of poor households through livelihoods adapted to climate change.

On this occasion, CISDOMA Institute awarded Commemorative Medals to 4 individuals, 6 groups and teams in the district; 1 collective and 4 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by Tam Duong District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Project to enhance the resilience of poor households through livelihoods adapted to climate change.
