Immediately after arriving in Busan city, General Secretary To Lam received former Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in Korea Park Soo Kwan.

At the reception, General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure to meet again Mr. Park Soo Kwan, a close friend of the Vietnamese people, in the beautiful port city of Busan during his State visit to Korea this time.

The General Secretary shared his impressions when visiting Busan city, witnessing the city's potential and development achievements, thereby demonstrating the determination and efforts of Busan's leaders and people in promoting the city to become a typical model in the region.

The General Secretary said that over the past years, thanks to the active support of the State and people of the two countries, and outstanding Korean businessmen, including Mr. Park Soo Kwan, the Vietnam-Korea cooperation relationship in all fields, especially the economy , has been developing at a fairly high rate. Vietnam and Korea continue to maintain their positions as each other's leading important partners; people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation have been taking place vigorously. The communities of people from one country in the other country have basically integrated well, contributed much to the socio-economic development of the host country and played the role of a bridge of friendship for the relationship between the two countries.

The General Secretary said that with the aim of strengthening Vietnam's diplomatic presence in the southern region of Korea, while meeting the increasing needs of the Vietnamese community and local partners, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to establish the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan. In order for the work of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan to be carried out smoothly and effectively, the General Secretary hoped that Mr. Park Soo Kwan would continue to pay attention, support and create the most favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan, Korea in the coming time.

Former Honorary Consul General Park Soo Kwan expressed his pleasure at meeting General Secretary To Lam again in his new position, recalling the good impressions from previous meetings with General Secretary To Lam; affirming that with General Secretary To Lam's vision and leadership style, Vietnam will continue to develop prosperously in the coming time.

Former Honorary Consul General Park Soo Kwan shared that Busan city was very pleased to be chosen as the venue and had carefully prepared the Opening Ceremony of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan and the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of Friendly and Cooperative Relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Busan City. Former Honorary Consul General Park Soo Kwan believes that the cooperation between the two cities in the coming time will continue to develop, contributing more to the cooperative relationship between Korea and Vietnam in the new period.
