Gazzetta said the 32-year-old travelled by road back to his hometown of Bushehr, nearly 1,000km south of Iran, where he reunited with his family and has been in constant contact with Inter coach Cristian Chivu.

Taremi also reassured his Inter teammates who are participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ that he is fine and safe. Taremi's current accommodation is quite far from the war zone that was recently hit by an airstrike in Iran.

Taremi was unable to fly from Iran to the United States to attend the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™ with his teammates due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Airports in Iran remain closed.

Taremi returned home to collect the Iranian Footballer of the Year award and plans to fly to Los Angeles to join his teammates. He has also played for Iran in 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Qatar and North Korea, scoring in the latter.

Taremi could leave Inter this summer following the departure of manager Simone Inzaghi. According to Sky Sports , Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest and Fulham are interested in signing the Iranian international.

Inter escaped with a goal in the 90+2 minute. In the early morning of June 22, Inter struggled to defeat Urawa Reds 2-1 at the FIFA Club World Cup.
