Regretfully losing to Korabelka, Vietnam women's volleyball team won runner-up at VTV Cup 2025

Despite playing very hard in the final match of the VTV Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still unfortunately lost to Korabelka (Russia) and finished the tournament as runner-up, winning the Silver Medal.

The final match of the international women's volleyball tournament in Vinh Phuc , Phu Tho on the evening of July 5 was a competition between the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and their opponent Korabelka (Russia).

In this match, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet fielded the strongest lineup of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the moment, including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, setter Doan Thi Lam Oanh and libero Nguyen Khanh Dang. The defending champion Korabelka (Russia) also chose the best players when they rematched with the host in the final of the VTV Cup 2025 international women's volleyball tournament.

In the first sets, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet used Vo Thi Kim Thoa as the main setter. In this operation, the Vietnamese team's hitters tried their best but were still overwhelmed by Korabelka (Russia) and were overwhelmed by the attacking smashes of the taller Russian hitters. In the first two sets, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost with scores of 19-25 and 14-25.

In the following minutes, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet promptly adjusted to help the front and back rows of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team play more cohesively from the third game. At the same time, Doan Thi Lam Oanh returned to the field to be the second setter to create coordination with her teammates. With more confidence, the home team played excellently and won 25-23, 25-21 in the next 2 games. The match entered the 5th game to decide the final result. At the decisive moment, we let our opponent take the lead and win narrowly 20-18. In the end, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost 2-3 and received the runner-up position in the tournament.

In previous qualifying matches, the Vietnamese youth women's volleyball team finished 6th in this year's tournament.

- MPV title (best player of the tournament): Elizaveta Nesterova (Korabelka)

- Best striker: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (Vietnam); Viktoria Bobrova (Korabelka)

- Best opposite: Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (Vietnam)

- Best setter: Irina Filishtinskaya (Korabelka)

- Best middle blocker: Elizaveta Palshina (Korabelka), Kan Ko-hui (Taiwan-China).

- Best Libero: Nguyen Khanh Dang (Vietnam).

- Miss tournament: Leila Jane Cruz (Philippines)

In addition to the organizers' award, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation awarded the Vietnamese women's volleyball team 100 million VND for their runner-up achievement this year.
