Prime Minister offers incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs in Lai Chau

At the Memorial House for Heroes and Martyrs in Ma Li Pho commune, the Prime Minister and the delegation expressed their deep emotion and respectfully bowed to commemorate the heroes and martyrs, the outstanding children who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, firmly protecting the Fatherland's borders, and for the peaceful life of the people.

During the resistance wars against French colonialism, American imperialism and the Northern border war in 1979, there were 33 children of Lai Chau homeland, Lai Chau border guards (including Ma Lu Thang border post) and Regiment 741 directly holding guns, fighting bravely and sacrificing on this land.

Writing in the memorial book at the stele house, the Prime Minister wrote, forever grateful to remember the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroes and martyrs, the generations of today and tomorrow vow to unite, promote the heroic tradition of the nation, together with the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army to successfully carry out the renovation process, build and firmly protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, build a strong and prosperous country. The people are increasingly prosperous and happy.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Prime Minister and the delegation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Huoi Luong Border Guard Station, Huoi Luong Commune, Phong Tho District.

According to the report, Huoi Luong Border Guard Station manages a border section of more than 13km long, with 9 landmarks, 15 markers, a large area with over 7,000 people, including 4 ethnic groups: Mong, Dao, Ha Nhi and Kinh living in 21 villages scattered on high mountain slopes.

During 43 years of construction, fighting and growth, Huoi Luong Border Guard Station has always excellently completed all tasks, highly appreciated by local Party committees, authorities and people in the border area, contributing to consolidating and tightening the solidarity between the army and the people, building a solid people's heart position in the border area.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that he had visited and worked with the Border Guard force many times and sympathized with them about the difficulties of being stationed in harsh places, far from their families, and carrying out heavy tasks in poor conditions.

Officers and soldiers always thoroughly understand and perform well the functions and tasks of the army as "a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army".

The Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated the contributions, dedication and sacrifices of Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard in general and Huoi Luong Border Guard Station in particular in recent times.
