Earning a profit of 7 billion VND/year, Mr. Nguyen Duc Menh becomes "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer in 2024"

Mr. Nguyen Duc Menh (left) was awarded the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer in 2024" by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

This year, the Farmers' Association of Hai Duong province submitted 2 applications for the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" in 2024, of which Mr. Nguyen Duc Menh's application met all the requirements. The Central Association will organize the award ceremony next October.

In 1992, Mr. Menh built an agricultural product purchasing point; in 2009, he established Tan Huong agricultural and food processing facility (later converted into Tan Huong Agricultural and Food Processing Joint Stock Company). Currently, the company has a production area of 8,500 ^m2 including: agricultural product preliminary processing area; cold storage, frozen storage; agricultural product classification workshop; agricultural product drying area. The company uses many new technologies in production such as: cold storage, cold drying, microwave drying, infrared radiation drying.

Every year, the company purchases and supplies to the market over 10,000 tons of fresh carrots; about 3,000 tons of onions and garlic; more than 1,000 tons of radishes; 3,000 tons of spices and over 3,000 tons of winter vegetables.

In 2023, the company's revenue will reach 95 billion VND, after deducting expenses, the profit will be 7 billion VND. Currently, the company creates jobs for 100 regular workers with an income of 7.5 million VND/person/month, and 120 seasonal workers.

Every year, Mr. Menh helps 20-30 poor households with difficulties in capital, materials, techniques, experience... to develop production and business; guides and disseminates knowledge about science and technology of safe cultivation to 40-50 households; gives 20-30 gifts, worth over 20 million VND to farmer members in difficult circumstances...

The company's products are consumed domestically and exported.

In 2022, Mr. Menh was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Propaganda Department for his outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit for his outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas".

Mr. Menh is the 14th person from Hai Duong to be awarded this title.
