Children are given basic knowledge to prevent accidents and injuries. |
On the morning of June 13, the atmosphere in the skills classroom of the Provincial Children's Cultural Palace was quite lively. In the spacious room, more than 60 children enthusiastically participated in the life skills class and training on accident prevention for children. During the class, the children were instructed on practical knowledge related to safety in daily activities such as: Do not climb high; how to handle gas leaks; prevent electric shock by not using the phone while charging, do not use electrical devices without an adult around; how to prevent burns such as not playing near a gas stove or iron; how to handle when spilling boiling water or touching hot objects; practice handling CPR situations, saving people from electric shock... The knowledge is all linked to hypothetical situations, helping the children absorb easily and remember longer.
Mr. Truong Ngoc Long - in charge of the class said, with the goal of equipping children with basic knowledge of life skills and preventing accidents and injuries during the summer, the Provincial Children's House organized the first free skills class in 2025, creating conditions for children to have a useful and safe playground. This is the first time the life skills class has been organized for free at the Provincial Children's Cultural Palace. The special point of the class is the approach that is close and easy to understand, not focusing on knowledge but prioritizing practice and simulating situations, helping children to absorb actively and naturally with the spirit of "learning while playing" during the summer. From there, the children not only stop at equipping themselves but also become young propagandists to remind friends and relatives to raise safety awareness.
After this first class, the skill class will be studied to maintain free classes during the summer; at the same time, expand more paid intensive skill classes to meet the diverse needs of children and parents. From the positive results of the first class, it is hoped that the model will continue to be replicated in the future, becoming a familiar, useful and safe destination for children every summer.
