This year, the entrance exam to Ho Chi Minh City did not have an absolute score for Literature, the score range was concentrated at 5 - 7.5, similar to last year, with 2 exams achieving a score of 9.5. From 9 points and above, there were 203 candidates achieving it. The mark with the most students achieving was 7 with nearly 6,000 exams. About 15% of the exams were below average.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Huong, a Literature teacher at Tuyensinh247, the official entrance exam for grade 10 Literature in Ho Chi Minh City this year has changed compared to previous school years. All the materials are works taken from outside the book.

The exam closely follows the output standards of the new generaleducation program, avoiding rote learning and cramming; closely follows the spirit of the high school graduation exam, focusing on students' understanding of familiar but still highly topical issues. The content and questioning style are oriented towards developing competencies (reading comprehension, writing), instead of reproducing knowledge.

The test encourages candidates to express their personal thoughts and respond to the text, in line with the "read to understand, write to express yourself" approach.

The social discussion section continues to follow the topic and all the issues in the exam will revolve around the pre-given topic. The exam structure has changed compared to the previous exam structure.

In addition, for Math, 36 candidates achieved a perfect score, compared to 49 last year. About 63.3% of the test scores were above average, with a common score of 7 achieved by more than 4,500 students. However, this subject also recorded more than 28,000/75,000 candidates scoring below 5 points, accounting for about 36.7%.

In previous years, the Math exam in Ho Chi Minh City made many candidates cry, with the percentage of candidates scoring below 5 points being over 50%.

Meanwhile, about 31.5% of the English test scores were below average. The average score range for candidates was between 5.75 and 8.25 points. The number of tests with perfect scores was 488, about one-third of last year's (1,700).

However, the number of candidates taking the 10th grade exam this year is more than 76,000, a decrease of about 27,000 candidates.

The 10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City this year took place on June 6 and 7, with more than 75,000 candidates registering for the exam, a decrease of 27,000 students compared to last year. This year, 115 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City recruited 70,070 students for grade 10.

In the past three years, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Binh District) has always had the highest 10th grade entrance score in Ho Chi Minh City, with 24 points or more.
