'Tiny' candidate mistaken for elementary school student lost in high school graduation exam room

At the exam site of Krong Bong High School (Krong Bong district), a candidate so small that he was mistaken for an elementary school student wandered into the exam room.

Accordingly, when the inspection team entered examination room 332 to check the procedures before the high school graduation exam, they suddenly saw a candidate sitting below. A member of the team immediately asked, why is there a child in the examination room? When the team checked the documents, they found out that the candidate was Nguyen Van Thien, class 12A11, Krong Bong High School.

Nguyen Van Thien was born into a near-poor farming family in Cu Kty commune (Krong Bong district), the whole family only depended on less than 5 sao of rice fields.

Thien's father had to work as a hired laborer, while his mother took advantage of the off-season to work as a kitchen assistant, saving every penny to pay for the two brothers' education.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bay (53 years old - Thien's father) said that he does not dare to dream of his son becoming this or that, he just wants his son to be healthy, live a useful life, and have a suitable and decent job in the future. Mr. Bay hopes to receive support from units and vocational schools after Thien finishes high school.

Despite his family's difficult circumstances, Thien always tries his best in his studies and achieved excellent academic results last school year. However, Thien decided to learn a trade because he understood that his family could not afford the many years of university tuition.

"I want to learn a profession that suits my abilities, conditions and passion, and at the same time be able to find a job soon to take care of myself, support my family and people in the same situation," Thien said.

Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (Thien's classmate) said that Thien lives very deeply and always cares about everyone. In class, whether someone has a happy or sad story, Thien always asks about it and encourages them.

"In class activities, when he can participate, Thien always tries his best, if not, he cheers hard. He always tries to balance between studying and playing. Thien dreams of becoming a YouTuber to share joy and beautiful aspirations with many people," Kim Chi said.

Head teacher Tran Thi Cam Van assessed that Thien is a gentle, determined student who is always aware of overcoming difficulties. He has never asked teachers for help with anything and everyone loves and respects him.

"With Thien's academic results, his family and school believe he will pass the high school exam with a high score," teacher Cam Van added.
