The tour "District 1 - Night Colors" is expected to attract both locals and domestic and foreign tourists.

The tour program takes visitors to see familiar destinations in Ho Chi Minh City sparkling under the lights of a vibrant city such as: the old Continental Saigon Hotel, enjoy the A O Show art at the City Theater, visit the headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Thanh Market and experience a relaxing foot massage.

Night tourism helps diversify products

For a long time, the night economy has been identified as one of the pillars of tourism development in some localities with advantages in terms of geography and natural environment. In Vietnam, according to statistics: up to 70% of tourists' spending on tour programs in a locality is spent on tourism services at night.

As for Ho Chi Minh City, in the process of recovering and promoting socio-economic development after the Covid-19 pandemic, the contribution of the night-time economy to the city's tourism recovery is clearly demonstrated with commercial, service, tourism and entertainment activities.

According to statistics, the total number of international visitors to the city has just recovered about 65%, but the total tourism revenue has exceeded 25% compared to the time before the Covid-19 pandemic - 2019, in which, the revenue contribution from night-time economic services is very large.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that in the development plan of "each district has a typical product", the city's tourism industry also set a follow-up goal that each district has an additional night tourism product to diversify the city's products. From here, we can also clearly see that the role of local state management agencies is very important.

"Rapid economic development must also focus on sustainability. Tourism development must also be green and clean to keep tourists staying longer and spending more," Mr. Hoa shared.

Make a mark on the night tour

District 1 is the key area for tourism development in Ho Chi Minh City with strengths in accommodation, dining, entertainment, shopping, healthcare, cultural, sports and tourism events, and many tourism products to introduce to visitors.

The event to announce the typical tourism product "District 1 - Night Colors" contributed to increasing the number of typical tourism programs of the city to 60 attractive programs. This is expected to be a premise for other districts to exploit the value of tourism resources from a night perspective to attract tourists, to "light up" the night economy in the city.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa, Vice Chairman of District 1 People's Committee, this night tour will take visitors to explore District 1 at night, which is different, new, ancient and vibrantly modern; at the same time, explore the cultural and historical beauty at night, which is extremely sparkling and charming.

Mr. Tran The Dung, General Director of Vietluxtour Travel, also shared that the company will include these programs in its series of regularly departing tourism products. The programs will be designed with selected visiting times and destinations, updated to suit the actual times of the city. "We expect the program to not only attract local tourists but also become one of the city's typical products, creating a unique impression on tourists from other provinces and cities in and outside the country," said Mr. Dung.
