According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning (June 10), the low pressure area in the North East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.
At 4:00 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 15.7 degrees North latitude; 115.7 degrees East longitude, about 360km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8; moving slowly to the West at a speed of about 5km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the tropical depression will move in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 10-15km/hour, level 8-9 intensity, gust level 11 and is likely to strengthen into a storm.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of coastal districts, towns and cities and relevant departments, branches and units to closely monitor the developments of natural disasters; strictly manage vessels going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of vessels and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of natural disasters to proactively avoid and take shelter to ensure safety. Prepare forces and means for rescue when requested.
Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television Station, Thanh Hoa Coastal Information Station strengthen measures to inform about the developments of natural disasters to authorities at all levels, owners of means of transport operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors, forecasts, warns, and promptly informs about developments of heavy rain to proactively deploy response measures.
Organize on-duty seriously, regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
