Provincial traffic police force checks alcohol concentration of passenger transport drivers on National Highway 1A through Luu Ve commune.
The Ho Chi Minh Highway through the province is nearly 130km long, passing through many mountainous communes of the province. In recent years, economic exchanges between regions in the province have developed rapidly, especially in the field of transportation. Therefore, transportation activities to serve the needs of people on the Ho Chi Minh Highway are increasingly high. In order to proactively prevent and implement measures to ensure order, traffic safety and infrastructure on the Ho Chi Minh Highway, Traffic Police Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police has proactively developed a plan, arranged forces and means to strengthen patrolling, controlling and handling of vehicles operating on this route.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Chan Hung, Deputy Head of Traffic Police Team No. 3: “Implementing the peak month of total control and handling of transport vehicles, the team has arranged patrol and control teams in key areas with many means of transport in circulation. At the same time, mobilize forces and vehicles to strengthen patrol and control activities along the Ho Chi Minh Highway. Thereby, the team focuses on controlling and handling violations of alcohol and drug concentrations; transporting overloaded or oversized goods, transporting goods without proper restraint; speeding, not complying with traffic light signals; driving in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction, avoiding and overtaking improperly, not complying with regulations on giving way at road intersections; violating road transport activities... Along with that, the team actively propagates to raise awareness and responsibility of all classes of people in complying with the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, minimizing traffic accident on Ho Chi Minh road
Implementing Plan No. 4708/KH-C08-P1 dated July 23, 2025 of Department C08 - Ministry of Public Security on general control and handling of vehicles operating in the transport business on roads and waterways, from July 25 to August 25, the Traffic Police force of the whole province mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to patrol, control and handle violations of vehicles operating in the transport business on roads and waterways. In the first days of the campaign, from July 25 to August 7, the Traffic Police force of the whole province detected and recorded 3,494 cases of violations of traffic order and safety; temporarily detained 767 vehicles (25 cars, 742 motorbikes); revoked the right to use driving licenses and practice certificates of 167 cases; deducted points from driving licenses of 1,296 cases...
According to the Traffic Police Department, currently on the road, the Traffic Police force will focus on patrolling and controlling key national highways; steep, winding mountain passes with limited visibility; areas at risk of traffic accidents, and places where cars frequently stop, park, pick up, and drop off passengers in violation of regulations. Check the operating conditions of vehicles; check journey monitoring devices, devices that record images of drivers; check images stored on the device. On waterways, the Traffic Police force will control key waterways for transporting goods and passengers; routes with seaports, passenger ports, passenger wharves; lakes, irrigation dams, hydroelectric plants with complex waterway traffic activities; points of assembly and loading and unloading of goods; points with tourism activities, festivals, entertainment, recreation, and overnight accommodation on inland waterways.
During this general inspection, the Traffic Police force also coordinated with transport businesses in the province to organize propaganda and disseminate knowledge of legal regulations on safe driving, how to handle situations to ensure passenger safety, and implement good traffic culture. Thereby, raising awareness and self-consciousness of law compliance for drivers and service staff on vehicles, contributing to reducing traffic accidents.
