Previously, on June 2, Song Tu Tay island commune, Truong Sa island district ( Khanh Hoa ) received information that fishing boat QNg 963xx TS captained by Mr. DT (born in 1975, in Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province) had engine failure, could not maneuver, and was anchored in the Southeast area of the island, about 35 nautical miles from the island.
There were 12 crew members on board. The ship departed from Quang Ngai waters on May 16 for offshore fishing.

Immediately after receiving the information, the island commune reported to superiors according to regulations, and at the same time, repeatedly contacted the Central Region Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center and nearby fishing vessels to support towing the distressed vessel to the island for repairs.
At 8:00 p.m. on June 4, fishing boat QNg 966xx TS approached and began towing boat QNg 963xx TS to an area near the island. However, due to high wave conditions, the two boats could only anchor in the Southeast area, about 2 nautical miles from the island.
At 6:00 a.m. on June 7, another ship was dispatched to approach the QNg 963xx TS ship to conduct towing. At 7:30 a.m. the same day, the ship was handed over to the military and people of Song Tu Tay Island in the Au estuary area. The island used a boat to bring some crew members over and tow the fishing boat into the wharf. At 8:15 a.m. the same day, all ships and boats entered the island's wharf safely.
Initial checks have shown that all 12 crew members are in stable health, with no dangerous conditions. Authorities are currently assisting the crew members in inspecting and repairing the ship so that it can resume its operations at sea.
