I didn’t know how to respond. If I said no, the questioner might not believe me. I chose to drop an angry emoji and disconnect.
I was really confused when I received such a question. The questioner was straightforward. There were many other readers who were not so straightforward. They had the right to speculate and implicitly judge: “This guy must have asked ChatGPT again.”
Actually, it is not surprising, because there are many people who ask the “wise man” - the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT. The person who asked me later confessed: “To be honest, I now have to use AI to write everything. I also use AI to answer everything. I am too lazy to think!”
I remember at a meeting, a colleague said that his subordinates' documents "smelled" of AI. An acquaintance said that in her office, when giving comments on documents, the staff also asked ChatGPT to answer. As a result, the comments were similar, but in reality, the core content that needed to be commented on was very vague.
Of course, ChatGPT is very smart, but it cannot replace human intelligence, especially folk knowledge. People working in a specific environment will have practical experiences, of course they will have practical suggestions, writing more accurate sentences. It may not be flowery, but the intellectual content is often very high, ensuring the coherence of the text.
My kids also admit that ChatGPT is useful for studying. A medical university lecturer had to exclaim that he had to work very hard to eliminate from the students' exams the knowledge that ChatGPT provided exceeded the allowed ratio of the training institution. Because there were essays that almost completely used AI.
In a very demanding field of study, related to human life in the future, the writer can easily use the information provided by ChatGPT to get a score, so a report or a suggestion in an agency using “robot” intelligence is also normal. Are only those who diligently “spin their brains” over each word, ponder each sentence, and are absorbed in each topic and story… abnormal?
I disagree with that. Because I can be conservative and say that no matter how useful a gadget is, it cannot replace the brain and the heart. It is completely different from any other tool, because it has reason, perception and emotion. The heart and the brain are conceived, nurtured, educated , and loved, not operated by algorithms.
The recent “crash” of ChatGPT on the afternoon of June 10 can be considered a “disaster”, many things are paralyzed. On social networks, there are many complaints, there are even status lines expressing the deadlock. I believe that is not exaggerated or exaggerated, but the truth. People who have “turned off their brains” for many days to depend on the AI brain will lose their way when that brain is paralyzed. And their physical brains will also have difficulty starting up and getting used to it smoothly when it has been “forgotten” for many days.
The question is: If one day ChatGPT "crashes" again for a longer period of time, what will happen to the progress of reports, documents, and essays?
Using ChatGPT tool is to absorb scientific civilization. But depending on artificial intelligence, is to not acknowledge one's own intelligence. Isn't that really shameful?
