On July 31, in Hanoi , the Steering Committee for External Information Affairs held a conference to review the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.
Chairing the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Head of the Steering Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that foreign information work is an important part of the Party's political , ideological and foreign affairs work, state diplomacy and people's diplomacy.
This work is also a regular, long-term task of the entire political system under the leadership of the Party.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission suggested that in the last 6 months of 2025, the Steering Committee and forces working on foreign information should focus on implementing key tasks.
In particular, continue to thoroughly grasp and understand more deeply and comprehensively the Party's policies and viewpoints on foreign affairs and foreign information work, especially Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation, draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 34-NQT, Conclusion No. 71-KL/TW of the Politburo on a number of major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress; Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation and other important documents.
Along with that, the Steering Committee and forces working on foreign information continue to promote propaganda about policies and strive to effectively enhance partnerships with major countries and important partners in many diverse and rich forms.
The Steering Committee and forces working on foreign information work continue to monitor and grasp public opinion to proactively orient information and propaganda work, fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; promote propaganda about the Vietnamese national value system and culture, and promote information about the areas that Vietnam is focusing on.
According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, along with the above tasks, the Steering Committee and forces working on foreign information need to enhance the ability to respond quickly and effectively to sudden events and situations, closely coordinate between functional agencies, avoid information being scattered, overlapping or inconsistent, further improve the effectiveness of research work, and forecast strategic changes in the international and regional environment.
In addition, the Steering Committee and forces working on foreign information promptly grasp the development trends of modern media; proactively and effectively apply digital media, artificial intelligence, social networks and online platforms to improve public access capacity, increase the spread of the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.
Information at the conference also showed that, in the context of complicated developments in the world and the region beyond forecast, with the attention and close direction of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee, the contributions of agencies, units and localities, foreign information work was implemented synchronously, effectively and achieved many positive results.
Besides those results, foreign information work in general and the activities of the Steering Committee in particular still have some limitations that need to be further overcome in the coming time.
Steering Committee members and delegates discussed and evaluated the results of activities in the first 6 months of the year, directions and tasks in the last 6 months of 2025 as well as proposed solutions to strengthen coordination mechanisms and further improve the effectiveness of external information work.
At the same time, a number of member agencies of the Steering Committee presented their experiences in innovation to promote the effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation./.
