Tan Truong determined to help Binh Phuoc make history in the play-off match

“I have played in many play-off matches, including the victory with Dong Thap at Thong Nhat Stadium. Experience is what I have, but more than that is desire. I want to contribute to bringing Binh Phuoc to V.League,” Bui Tan Truong shared at a press conference before the Bia Sao Vang 2024/25 play-off match on the afternoon of June 26.

At the age of 38, Tan Truong could not hide his emotions at the opportunity to participate in a major milestone of Binh Phuoc football. “As long as I have the strength, I will continue to play. In this match, I will enter the field with all my passion. The future will come later, now is the time to contribute,” he continued.

The veteran goalkeeper emphasized that Binh Phuoc's preparation did not come in just a few days, but was a quiet process that lasted throughout the season. All members worked tirelessly for a single goal: promotion to the V.League 2025/26.

Before the match, Binh Phuoc was offered a bonus of 10 billion VND if they won the promotion ticket. For Tan Truong and his teammates, the bonus is not a burden but a motivation for the players to fight and contribute for the common achievement.

As for coach Huynh Quoc Anh of Binh Phuoc, the upcoming match will bring him many emotions when facing his hometown team. However, this coach affirmed that he is ready to put aside personal feelings to complete the task.

“I was born and raised in Da Nang , my family and friends are all there. But as the head coach of Binh Phuoc, I understand the job I need to do. This is the time to put emotions aside to focus fully on the common goal,” he said.

The strategist born in 1984 is cautious about the “do or die” nature of the match: “This is a decisive match, not a long tournament. Each team has its own way of playing, but we will focus on maximizing what we have.”

The play-off match between Binh Phuoc and Da Nang will take place at 6pm on June 27. With high determination from both the coaching staff and the players, Binh Phuoc hopes to write a new page in the history of provincial football.
