According to plan, the new Suzuki Fronx 2025 small SUV model will probably arrive in Vietnam around September this year. The model is currently being introduced at the Indonesia International Motor Show, attracting the attention of many Vietnamese consumers. Suzuki Fronx is classified in the compact crossover segment (CUV class A), with overall dimensions of 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,550 mm high and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. The design of Fronx has a modern crossover style with a large grille, sharp LED lights and a dynamic style.
The car has a turning radius of only 4.8 meters, suitable for flexible urban mobility. When launched in Vietnam, Suzuki Fronx will join the competition with rivals such as Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue. In the Indonesian market, Suzuki Fronx is sold in 3 versions including; GL, GX and SGX. Standard equipment on the car includes front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. 16-inch wheels, MacPherson front suspension and torsion beam rear. The standard GL version has a series of basic equipment including: LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch entertainment screen, 6 airbags, manual air conditioning with rear vents, reverse sensor, reverse camera and electronic balance system ESP. The GX version adds many amenities such as: automatic air conditioning, 9-inch entertainment screen, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 4.2-inch multi-information display, cruise control, paddle shifters (AT version) and 6-speaker sound system. The highest-end SGX version attracts attention with equipment such as: LED taillights, synthetic leather seats, wireless charging, sports spoiler.
Notably, the highest-end SGX version also owns an advanced ADAS driver assistance technology package including: 360-degree camera, lane keeping, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, automatic headlights, HUD display and DSBS II automatic braking system. The car has two engine options. In which, the GL version uses a 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The higher GX and SGX versions feature a mild hybrid powertrain, including a 1.5L K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing a maximum capacity of 99 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 135 Nm at 4,400 rpm.
This engine comes with a 12V lithium-ion battery and an integrated alternator (ISG), which helps support torque when accelerating and activates the temporary engine on/off feature when stopping at red lights or waiting, to optimize fuel economy. Engine power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission (optional on the GX) or a 6-speed automatic transmission (standard on the GX and SGX). All versions use MacPherson front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, 37-liter fuel tank and 195/60 tires. In Indonesia, the Fronx is priced from 259 - 321.9 million rupiah (equivalent to 415 - 515 million VND). If the price difference in Vietnam is not too much, this model can completely compete with rivals in the same small SUV segment that are currently "making waves".
