Specifically, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 26, while patrolling, controlling and performing the task of preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, Ship CSB 4035 under the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 received a distress signal from fishing vessel KG 90172 TS captained by Mr. Ngo Van Hung (residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province).

On the fishing boat, crew member Tran Van Kien (36 years old, residing in Ngoc Thuan hamlet, Dong Hung commune, An Giang province) had a work accident while casting a trawl net, resulting in a crushed finger, loss of two vertebrae, and profuse bleeding that could not be stopped.
Upon receiving the information, CSB 4035 quickly maneuvered to the fishing boat, brought crew member Tran Van Kien to the ship and performed first aid. The ship's medical team performed initial medical treatment, including stopping the bleeding, bandaging the wound, and providing painkillers and antibiotics.
Thanks to timely intervention, the victim's health gradually stabilized, the wound temporarily stopped bleeding, he was conscious and no longer in danger of death. At 8:00 p.m. the same day, officers and soldiers on CSB 4035 helped bring crew member Kien back to the fishing boat to be taken to the mainland for further treatment.
The quick and effective actions of the Vietnam Coast Guard have demonstrated a high sense of responsibility for serving the people, especially in protecting and supporting fishermen to stay at sea with peace of mind.
