On June 13, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
According to VNA correspondents in Russia, in 2025, Russia will host many important foreign affairs and diplomatic activities that require timely, diverse and attractive promotion and information for readers, such as the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations, the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, or the official visit of General Secretary To Lam to Russia in May.
Well-organized activities will only be best disseminated through the press, especially the mainstream press. Therefore, 2025 is truly a year of great responsibility for Vietnamese press agencies in the Russian Federation.
Speaking at the celebration of Revolutionary Press Day, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi acknowledged the difficult nature of press activities in the Russian Federation, as this is a large and important area.
In the 100-year history since the birth of Thanh Nien weekly, the first revolutionary newspaper in Vietnamese, journalists have always accompanied the struggle for national independence and freedom, holding both guns and pens to leave the most authentic documents for posterity, sometimes at the cost of the authors' lives.
The Ambassador emphasized that the most important mission of the press, at any time, must be to serve the interests of the nation and people.
For the press force stationed abroad, in addition to their professional duties, reporters must also be aware of their role as representatives of the country in cooperation with representative agencies and local press, and how to attract more foreign journalists to write about Vietnam as well as about the country's development.
Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Xuan Hung (Nhan Dan newspaper) emphasized the importance of close coordination between press agencies and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to ensure comprehensiveness and transparency of information, especially during important foreign affairs events.
All officials and employees of the embassy and other representative agencies, together with correspondents in the Russian Federation, reviewed the documentary film about the 100-year journey of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism.
The film recreates memorable milestones, President Ho Chi Minh 's profound advice to journalists, as well as the silent dedication and sacrifice of generations of battlefield journalists.
Proud of the glorious history of journalism, respected for their tireless efforts, every Vietnamese journalist in the Russian Federation feels an even greater responsibility to fulfill their mission of keeping the news flowing forever./.
