Exciting production atmosphere in early spring

After the warm and joyful days of the traditional Tet holiday, on the first day of the new spring, farmers, salt workers and fishermen in the province simultaneously started production with great enthusiasm. The warm early spring weather helps plants grow green and lush, bringing confidence in a successful and bountiful harvest.

In Thuan Bac district, in large rice fields with an area of nearly 300 hectares in the communes of Bac Phong, Bac Son, Loi Hai, ... from early morning on the 3rd day of Tet, farmers were busy with work, some weeding rice, some fertilizing, spraying pesticides. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Ba Thap village, Bac Phong commune, shared: In the 2023-2024 winter-spring rice crop, households used certified seeds, sowing simultaneously, and it has been nearly a month now. My family alone cultivates 5 sao, this is the time when the rice is developing stems and leaves, I spend time taking care of it, checking the situation, and pruning areas that are too thick or too thin to ensure that the rice grows evenly, avoiding affecting productivity.

In the converted fields, the atmosphere of people going to the fields to take care of their crops is also bustling. This winter-spring crop, the whole Thuan Bac district has converted 44.2 hectares of crops, mainly vegetables and grass for livestock. Mr. Nguyen Huy, An Dat village, Loi Hai commune, said: My family produces 2 sao of chili and 1.5 sao of watermelon. Currently, the chili has been harvested, and the watermelon is ready for harvest. Although I am happy about Tet, I do not forget the task of weeding, watering to keep the plants moist, and fertilizing the plants.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thuan Bac district, this year the water level in the reservoirs in the area is relatively stable, the winter-spring crop in the whole district planted 3,657 hectares of various crops. With the goal of improving production efficiency, the district has directed the implementation of many technical solutions such as: Organizing training, instructing people to apply the techniques of "1 must, 5 reductions", "3 reductions, 3 increases", recommending the use of certified varieties or higher, short-term varieties that are resistant to pests and diseases.

Together with farmers in other localities in the province, at the beginning of the new spring, farmers in Bac Ai district excitedly went to the fields to take care of their crops, hoping for a year of "favorable weather and bountiful harvest". Present at the large rice field in Phuoc Chinh commune, we recorded the very exciting working atmosphere of the local farmers. Mr. Kator Linh in Nui Ray village was excited: The weather is favorable, the water in the lakes is abundant, after harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop with the joy of good prices, people took the opportunity to plow the land to sow the winter-spring crop in time. Currently, people are focusing on going to the fields to take care of rice and other crops with the expectation of a bountiful harvest.

In the fields of rice, cassava, and other crops in the communes of Phuoc Dai, Phuoc Thang, Phuoc Tien, Phuoc Hoa, etc., the working atmosphere is also bustling, everyone is happy and excited. Ms. Chamaléa Thi Lam in Suoi Da hamlet, Phuoc Tien commune, happily said: Last cassava crop, my family harvested more than 10 tons of cassava, earning a profit of over 12 million VND, so we had the conditions to celebrate Tet warmly. At the beginning of the new spring, my family focused on taking care of the new cassava crop with the expectation of high productivity and selling price. In the winter-spring crop of 2023-2024, Bac Ai district planted 1,800 hectares of various crops; of which, 760 hectares of rice and 1,040 hectares of other crops. Thanks to favorable weather, the crops grew well.

On the first day of the new spring, farmers in Ninh Son district all went to the fields to produce with an excited mood. From early morning on the third day of Tet, taking advantage of the favorable weather, farmers in Phu Thuy village, My Son commune actively went to the fields to visit the rice fields, following the water with laughter and greetings at the beginning of spring. Excited because the previous rice crop had a good harvest and good price, this winter-spring crop, Ms. Pham Thi Sen has expanded the production area. Ms. Sen shared: My family cultivates 6 sao of rice, after Tet holiday, my family actively takes care of the rice plants with the hope of a bumper crop. In Nhon Son commune, apple farmers are also rushing to harvest apples to sell to traders. Mr. Pham Tan Dat, Luong Cang village, was excited: Apples are purchased by traders for 10,000-15,000 VND/kg, on the first day of the new spring, I picked 500kg of apples and sold them in the garden for 7.5 million VND.

In Thuan Nam district, on the industrial salt field in Quan The hamlet, Phuoc Minh commune, the atmosphere of early spring labor is also very bustling. Dozens of workers of Ca Na Ninh Thuan Salt Joint Stock Company are working hard, mixed with the sound of chatting. Ms. Kim Lien shared: After the Lunar New Year holidays, the company's workers have returned to work. Whatever job you do, you get used to it, if you take a long break, you miss your "job" and want to go back to work early. The weather in early spring is warm and sunny, everyone is rushing to the fields to harvest salt. Salt farmer Tran Van Chau in Quan The 1 hamlet said: The weather in early spring is warm and sunny, the salt grains are white crystallized, the price of salt is stable, creating motivation for salt farmers to work enthusiastically.

At the beginning of the new spring, fishermen in coastal communes also went out to sea to fish. After the opening ceremony of the seaport on the third day of Tet, fishermen from the two communes held a ceremony to go out to catch seafood. Mr. Nguyen Van Phat in Lac Tan 1 village, Phuoc Diem commune, confided: People hope that the weather will be favorable in the early spring, so that their fellow fishermen can go out to sea safely, and catch a lot of seafood.

From the morning of the 3rd day of Tet, Ninh Hai fishermen have also set out to start fishing in the spring. At My Tan fishing port and Ninh Chu fishing port, fishermen are busy preparing necessities, fuel, and ice to go out to sea to catch seafood. According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Tu, a fishing boat owner in Khanh Hai town, said: For fishermen, the first trip to sea in the spring is the most important, deciding the efficiency of fishing for the whole year. Although it is the time to celebrate spring, on the morning of the 3rd day of Tet, I and 16 crew members checked the ship's equipment and prepared the necessary necessities to "go to sea" in the new spring.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Minh, owner of a fishing boat in Khanh Hoi village, Tri Hai commune, said: At the beginning of the new spring, the price of seafood is high, fishermen believe that the first sea trip of spring will be successful. The crew members on the boat do not forget to bring banh tet and pickled onions, bringing the taste of Tet to the boat to go to sea, adding to the warmth of the first fishing days of spring. Hopefully in the beginning of spring, "favorable rain and wind", encountering a large fish, fishermen will catch a lot of seafood, full nets, full holds.
