Can Tho City Center for Control staff participate in voluntary blood Disease donation - Photo: TL
According to information from the blood bank of Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital, the amount of blood received is currently very low, only about 50% compared to the actual needs of hospitals. At the same time, this is the time when the number of people registering to donate blood directly and through groups through departments and organizations is showing a sharp downward trend.
Therefore, the blood bank is seriously lacking blood, the blood reserve is very low, unable to meet the blood supply needs for emergency and treatment at hospital in the Southwest region.
Currently, Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital is the place to receive blood, screen, separate, classify blood and blood products (red blood cells, platelets, packed red blood cells...) to supply to 76 medical facilities and hospitals in the Southwest region. Therefore, the lack of voluntary blood donations puts hospitals at risk of serious blood shortage.
In this situation, the Can Tho City Department of Health and the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital calls on all cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees of health agencies to donate blood volunteer. At the same time, they sent a message to the armed forces, students, workers and people in Can Tho City, as well as units in the southwestern provinces to actively participate in voluntary blood donation.
In addition, the temporary solution also relies on support and blood sharing from upper-level hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital will accept blood donations 24/7, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays... People can register to donate blood volunteers at Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital (No. 317 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan An Ward, Can Tho City).
