The opening day of September 5th this year took place in beautiful weather in Ho Chi Minh City with light sunshine and no rain. Preschool children and students from primary, secondary and high schools arrived at school early, participated in many educational activities and watched the national opening ceremony which was broadcast live with many emotions.
The 2025-2026 school year is the first school year of the Ho Chi Minh City Education and Training sector after the merger of provinces and cities, operating a two-level local government (provincial and communal levels).
The new Ho Chi Minh City today, after the merger between the old Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong province and the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, has become the largest megacity in the country, with the largest educational scale in the country. Statistics show that the entire Ho Chi Minh City after the merger has nearly 2.6 million students from kindergarten to high school, over 100,000 managers and teachers, and nearly 3,500 schools. The city's education sector has set out the requirements for consolidating resources, expanding the scale of schools, teachers and areas, requiring the flexible and creative adaptability of the entire sector.
