Launching Suzuki Victoris 2026 "gas guzzler", only 399 million VND

Suzuki has just launched a new B-segment SUV called Victoris in India, positioned as the company's flagship model here. Based on the Grand Vitara platform, the Suzuki Victoris has a different appearance and much higher standard equipment.

The Victoris measures 4,360mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,655mm high. Compared to the Grand Vitara, the Victoris is just 15mm taller and 10mm wider, while both have a 2,600mm wheelbase.

Despite being similar in size to the Grand Vitara, the Victoris features a completely new design. Up front, it features larger LED headlights, a slimmer grille and seamless bumper vents above a discreet skid plate.

The body is highlighted by square wheel arches, which surround 17-inch alloy wheels, along with a slightly redesigned windshield to create an accent. At the rear, the LED taillights stretch the entire width of the car, attracting attention, reminiscent of the futuristic design style often seen on Kia - specifically the Sportage.

Inside, the Victoris features a dashboard that revolves around a 10.1-inch infotainment screen that sits high on the dashboard. Grained leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof accentuate the cabin, while premium touches exclusive to the Indian market include 64-color ambient lighting...

The car features ventilated front seats, wireless charging, Harman sound system with Dolby Atmos, 360-degree camera, Alexa integration and a hands-free electric tailgate. It is also the first Maruti Suzuki model to be equipped with Level 2 driver assistance system.

In typical Suzuki fashion, the exterior is available in monochrome and two-tone colours, while the interior comes in black and ivory.

Furthermore, the optional Raffine Package adds dark chrome accents to the exterior, along with wood finishes, special floor mats and illuminated door sills inside the cabin.

Inside, the Victoris uses the same Heartect platform as the Grand Vitara and the same powertrains. Options include mild-hybrid, full-hybrid and bi-fuel (petrol/CNG).

The most powerful version is the Strong Hybrid, which combines a 1.5-litre engine with an electric motor for a total output of 114hp (85kW / 116PS) and 141Nm of torque. This version sends power through a six-speed automatic transmission to Suzuki's Allgrip Select all-wheel drive system.

The mild hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5-liter K-series Dual Jet VVT gasoline engine combined with a 12-Volt ISG starter motor and a small 6Ah Li-ion battery, producing a combined output of 101 horsepower and 135Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki has not yet announced the price of the Victoris in India, but is already accepting pre-orders with a deposit of Rs 11,000. The model is likely to be priced higher than the Grand Vitara, which currently retails for Rs 1.335-2.386 million.
