Attending the event were former Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; leaders of ministries, branches; Ambassadors of countries in Vietnam and associations...
Speaking at the event, President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association, Dr. Dang Thi Bich Lien, said that for generations, the Ao Dai has been present in life, through literature, poetry, music, sculptures, paintings, in every page of history and on every road of the country. The Ao Dai not only appears at cultural and artistic events in the country but also goes beyond the borders of Vietnam, present at international fashion weeks, prestigious beauty pageants, and major cultural events abroad.
"Ao dai has become a "cultural ambassador", a " peace messenger" bringing Vietnamese culture to the world. In the context of countries looking for sustainable values, ao dai is proof of the everlasting vitality of Vietnamese identity...", Dr. Dang Thi Bich Lien emphasized.

In contemporary life, the Ao Dai not only carries traditional values but is also constantly being created, renewed, and dynamically integrated with the globalization era. The establishment of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association aims to connect hearts that love Ao Dai, creative hands, and research minds, to together preserve, promote, and spread the beauty of Ao Dai as a living heritage in the modern flow.
The President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association shared that the Association is not only a place to gather artisans, designers, cultural and social activists, historical, fine arts and cultural researchers, etc., but also aims to build an open space for the community - where all Vietnamese people can participate in preserving and honoring the Ao Dai as part of their own national identity.
According to Dr. Dang Thi Bich Lien, Ms. Lien, in response to the need for a long-term, synchronous strategy for the ao dai to truly become a part of contemporary life, the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association will focus on researching, preserving and promoting the historical, cultural and artistic values of the Vietnamese ao dai, from traditional to modern, from the royal court to everyday life.
In addition, the Association will organize activities to promote, honor and spread the value of Vietnamese Ao Dai to the international community, through cultural exchange programs, art performances, design competitions, Ao Dai fashion weeks at home and abroad; connecting creative forces, from artisans, designers, models to tailors, manufacturers, researchers, and the media, thereby forming a creative cultural ecosystem associated with Ao Dai.

The Association will also aim to advise, consult and make recommendations to state management agencies in developing policies to support, honor and preserve the cultural value of the national ao dai, especially in education, communication, cultural diplomacy and creative economic development.
In particular, the Association will focus on building databases, collections, and archives on Ao Dai, contributing to research and education of Ao Dai cultural heritage for future generations.

Sharing more about this event, Vice President of the Association, Designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam said: "The establishment of the Association will open up more opportunities for Vietnamese designers to go out into the world, enhance their position when participating in programs and fashion weeks, bring Vietnamese designers to major events; cooperate and invite international designers to Vietnam. The establishment of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association is also a great opportunity for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to become "fashion capitals" at the regional and international level".
Previously, on the afternoon of August 8 in Hanoi, the first Congress of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Association, term 2025 - 2030, took place.
