An Giang Market Management discovered and seized 220 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

On the afternoon of June 6, Deputy Head of the Market Management Department of An Giang Province, Duong Duc Dat, said that Market Management Team No. 1 had just discovered and seized 220 packs of smuggled cigarettes, through the peak of monitoring, inspecting, and handling of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.

The inspection team made a record of inspection and temporary seizure of smuggled cigarettes.

Specifically, at 1:00 p.m. on June 6, at the Dong Da sidewalk area (Group 9, Hamlet 5, Chau Phu A Ward, Chau Doc City), the inspection team conducted an inspection of the object (a black nylon bag) without identifying the violator, owner, manager or legal user of the evidence.

As a result, the goods found inside included: 20 packs of smuggled Hero brand cigarettes, 20 cigarettes/pack, manufactured abroad, listed price 16,000 VND/pack; 100 packs of smuggled Bayon brand cigarettes, 20 cigarettes/pack, manufactured abroad, listed price 13,000 VND/pack; 100 packs of smuggled Scott brand cigarettes, 20 cigarettes/pack, manufactured abroad, listed price 14,000 VND/pack.

All of the above goods do not have invoices or documents proving legal import origin, all are smuggled cigarettes. The total value of the infringing goods is over 3 million VND.

The inspection team shall prepare inspection records, temporary detention records, and sealing records to propose the issuance of a temporary detention decision and handling according to the provisions of law.
