India-US relations a 'driving force' for 'global interests'

Affirming that the 2+2 format is a key element to further strengthen India-US relations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that the comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two countries is a “driving force” for “global interests”.

The head of the Indian government believes that the mutually beneficial cooperation between New Delhi and Washington is underpinned by their shared belief in democracy, pluralism and the rule of law.

Meanwhile, according to a statement from the US State Department, Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the two countries' shared vision for a close partnership in the Indo- Pacific and on issues of global importance.

Sharing on social network X, Secretary Blinken affirmed America's desire to "continue to innovate technology, clean energy and space for a brighter future".

Earlier, at the 2+2 Dialogue, Secretary of State Blinken said India and the US are promoting a free, open and secure Indo-Pacific region by strengthening partnerships through the Quad group with Japan and Australia.

The US-India Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue has been held annually since 2018. It serves as a platform for high-level discussions between the US and India, focusing on key bilateral and global issues, with a special focus on developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
