On the morning of August 9, Thu Duc Ward People's Committee and Urban Railway Company No. 1 signed a cooperation agreement to promote and develop culture, tourism , trade and services at metro stations No. 1.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dang Minh Thong and Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Van Minh. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Trinh, Chairwoman of the Ward People's Committee and Mr. Le Minh Triet, Director of Urban Railway Company No. 1, represented the two signing units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Trinh said that Metro Line 1 is not only a key transport project but also an opportunity to reshape urban space, promote socio -economic development, promote cultural values, especially enhance tourism and trade services in areas near the stations.

Thu Duc ward has 2 national historical and cultural relics and 4 city historical relics. It is the intellectual center of the eastern part of the city, where 2 academies, 4 universities, 8 colleges, 15 public educational units from kindergarten to junior high school are concentrated. At the same time, it is a place where a dynamic commercial service system and a diverse community converge.

Therefore, the ward wishes to spread cultural, knowledge, tourism, and commercial service values ​​in the area through metro trains.

On the occasion of propaganda for the 1st Thu Duc Ward Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030), and on the occasion of the major holidays of the 80th National Day September 2, the 80th August Revolution, the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day, the Youth Union of the Ward People's Committee cooperated with the Youth Union of the Urban Railway Company No. 1 to inaugurate the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space project at Thu Duc station.

"This is the first time we have a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at Thu Duc metro station, and it is also the first station out of 14 stations along metro line 1 to have this cultural and historical space.

We aim to gradually exploit the effective operation of metro line 1, combining with promoting the image, traditional cultural values, and inherent resources of Thu Duc ward. Building and developing brands of businesses in the ward, contributing to the development of the local economy, culture, and society.

"Turn stations into not only transport hubs but also educational and cultural exchange centers, places to spread patriotism, national pride and core values ​​of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought to all classes of people," said Ms. Trinh.

At the ceremony, Mr. Triet also represented the unit to give 600 free metro tickets to families, students and pupils in difficult circumstances in the ward.
