Phu Yen completes program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

On the afternoon of June 25, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the Province held a conference to summarize the Program for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the Province in 2025. 2,235 temporary and dilapidated houses were eliminated.

Reporting at the conference, comrade Tran Huu The, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, said that by June 25, the whole province had completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, policy families, and meritorious people, ahead of schedule according to the plan (before August 31).

Accordingly, the province has completed 2,222/2,235 houses (13 houses under construction will be completed before July 27), reaching 99.41% of the plan. Specifically, people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs completed 454/467 houses, the remaining 13 houses under construction will be completed before July 27; poor and near-poor households completed 1,624/1,624 houses; poor households receiving housing support under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas in the area completed 144/144 houses.

The success of the program is not only demonstrated by the number of houses built and repaired, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, sharing, responsibility and determination of the entire political system in caring for people's lives, strengthening people's trust in the Party and State.

Of the total 2,235 supported houses, 1,448 were newly built and 787 were repaired with a total cost of over VND218.7 billion. Of which, the state budget supported over VND77.9 billion, accounting for 35.62%; the mobilized fund according to the plan of the Central Steering Committee was VND20 billion (supported by Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company), accounting for 9.14%; the 3-level Fund for the Poor mobilized over VND20 billion, accounting for 9.18%; the mobilized socialized source was over VND2.9 billion, accounting for 1.34%; the contribution of households was nearly VND97.8 billion, accounting for 44.72%.

In addition, the Provincial Steering Committee also mobilized additional support for each household building a new house with 9,100 bricks; for each household repairing a house, 3,900 bricks. Each locality mobilized resources and participated in supporting nearly 9,000 additional working days (equivalent to more than 2.3 billion VND), construction materials, and other necessities with the motto of sharing food and clothes, whoever has something to help, whoever has money to help money, whoever has labor to help labor so that people, especially poor and near-poor households, can have a house to live in, thereby feeling secure in working and producing. Households receiving housing support all contributed capital from their families and clans, participating in contributing thousands of working days in the process of building houses...

A vivid demonstration of solidarity

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Cao Thi Hoa An acknowledged, praised and respectfully thanked the sense of responsibility and determination of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations, armed forces, enterprises, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province, along with the consensus and positivity of the people in the process of implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. The Provincial Party Secretary highly appreciated the implementation of the program in a public and transparent manner, with close supervision from the survey, review and approval of subjects to the construction and handover of houses.

“The success of the program is not only demonstrated by the number of houses built and repaired, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, sharing, responsibility and determination of the entire political system in caring for people's lives, strengthening people's trust in the Party and State,” emphasized comrade Cao Thi Hoa An.

From July 1, 2025, the whole country will implement a two-level local government model - an important transition that places higher demands on the staff, especially in being close to the grassroots, close to and listening to the people. Determining that the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is not only an immediate task but also a long-term responsibility, an important political task, especially in the context of Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces merging, expanding development space for localities, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Cao Thi Hoa An requested Party committees, People's Committees of localities, and the Fatherland Front to review housing support for households facing many housing difficulties, especially households that do not meet the prescribed standards as beneficiaries of this program. All levels, sectors, localities, and units continue to widely propagate to union members, association members, and people about the purpose and significance of the emulation movement nationwide to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, mobilize more resources to support people, especially poor and near-poor households, to have a house to live in, thereby feeling secure in working and producing.
