Within the framework of the Exhibition of National Achievements on the 80th Anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), taking place at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ), the Vietnam Cinema exhibition area became the focus of public attention with the first event introducing Vietnam Digital Film Studio.
Audiences get into character right in the Digital Studio
Since its opening on August 28, the Digital Studio area has attracted a large number of audiences of all ages. The impressive highlight is the role-playing activity in the context of the film “Peach, Pho and Piano” by director Phi Tien Son.

Audience members play the role of soldiers in the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano" on Digital Studio.
The audience was instructed to record a short video clip on a green screen. The camera system automatically interacted directly, the results were displayed on the screen next to it and sent to the participants afterwards. To increase the authenticity, the crew prepared props such as garrison uniforms, national flag shirts, fake guns, etc. for the audience to play the role of soldiers, recreating the heroic atmosphere in the historical film.
Mr. Vu Duy Nam, Director of Cine Plus, said: “Digital film studio is a cinematic solution, helping to build magnificent historical scenes with advanced technology. Every audience can enter the frame thanks to virtual space”.
Director Phi Tien Son – the “father” of the film “Peach, Pho and Piano” – commented: “Digital studios open up opportunities for filmmakers to create complex scenes that they could only imagine in their heads before.” He also revealed that he is discussing with the production unit to be able to cooperate in future projects.

Audiences at the exhibition can transform into historical, ancient or fictional characters in just a few seconds.
Virtual Production allows for the construction of 3D sets combined with real actors and props. Thanks to the synchronized real and virtual camera system, the scene is almost completed on-site, helping to save costs and shorten production time.
Audiences at the exhibition can transform into historical, ancient or fantasy characters in just a few seconds. Children are excited to experience motion capture, young people enjoy checking in, and the elderly are surprised that cinema technology is now so close.
This shows that digital cinema not only serves the creative industry but also becomes part of the community's cultural experience, creating a direct connection between the audience and art.
Launch pad for Vietnamese cinema dreams
For many years, Vietnamese cinema has had difficulty creating historical, war or fantasy scenes due to high costs and technical limitations. Digital film studios help solve that problem: recreating large scenes at a more reasonable cost, while also opening up opportunities for young directors to realize bold ideas.

This model not only serves production but also aims at training human resources. By connecting Enterprises - Managers - Schools, Digital Film Studio becomes a place for real research, practice and production, helping students access modern technology right from their studies.

One of the clearest evidences of the Digital Studio’s capabilities is the 3D animated film “De Men: Adventure to the Swamp”, which was produced entirely using this technology. Producer Vu Duy Nam said: “Bringing De Men to the screen was a big challenge, because this is a very familiar character. We want to keep the original spirit of To Hoai, but at the same time renew it, so that today’s children feel close. This is the first time a literary work has appeared on the big screen, the film has laid the first brick for Vietnamese 3D animation”.

The clearest proof of Digital Studio's capacity is the 3D animated film "Cricket: Adventure to the Swamp".
The film will be screened to the public at Cinema Room A within the framework of Exhibition A80. In addition, the film will also officially return to theaters, from August 29 at the National Cinema Center and from September 12 at the Galaxy Cinema system.
This return offers audiences, especially children, the opportunity to continue to immerse themselves in the adventures of familiar characters in a modern animated form. This is also a testament to the ability to combine Vietnamese literary heritage and digital cinema technology.
