At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Executive Chairman of CMC Group, Chairman of the Council of CMC University, presented the appointment decision and congratulated the new Principal.
"The appointment of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung to the position of Rector of CMC University and Vice President of the Group is a strategic step, marking a new development stage of CMC University - a young university with great aspirations, gradually positioning itself as a leading training and research center in the fields of technology and innovation" - Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh emphasized.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed his honor and emotion at being assigned the new responsibility.
"This is a great honor and at the same time a heavy responsibility in front of the trust of the Group's leaders and the University Council. In the coming period, I commit to working with the University to develop CMC University in a multidisciplinary and modern direction, with the goal of reaching a scale of over 15,000 students by 2033, building branches in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and bringing training programs to international standards" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung said.
The President of CMC University also pointed out 6 key strategic orientations including: Perfecting the organizational structure, developing a team of highly qualified lecturers; Promoting enrollment and developing training programs associated with international standards and AI technology; Strengthening scientific research, innovation and international publication; Ensuring comprehensive education quality, aiming at domestic and international accreditation; Expanding domestic and international cooperation, strengthening business connections; Investing in modern facilities, developing branches, and increasing lecturers' income.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan sent her congratulations and expressed her belief that with her capacity and enthusiasm, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung will work with the school to bring CMC University to remarkable development, becoming a spearhead in training human resources to serve national digital transformation.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung was born in 1976 in Hanoi, a former student of Hanoi National University, received a PhD in Information Technology from Shenzhen Advanced Institute of Technology in 2014, and was recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor in 2019.
Before being appointed as Vice Principal at CMC University, he held the position of Head of Information Technology Department - Thuyloi University and was a lecturer and researcher at universities and research institutes in the US, Japan, and China.
From 2022, he has taken on the position of Vice Principal of CMC University.
